Tata Motors is a very ethical and employee friendly company. They have Tata Code of Conduct. They conduct a lot of learning and development program for their employees I had a very good experience of working over there unfortunately I had to put in my papers aa I got a job opportunity from Public Sector company. But I realised in afew months that it was not a good move

Dislikes

The salary hike and promotions Salary hike is low as compared to other companies and even the promotion is slow. But still if you want a settled job without much fuss, peace of mind and you are not very ambitious this is a very good company to work with. One can alsi tho k of retiring from this company

Likes

They provide job security and there is not much work stress. You get sufficient time to deliver your work.They have a child care facility which is quite helpful for working women. They provide wonderful transport facility at nominal rate in case you don't have personal travelling arrangement.

Dislikes

Compensation is decent but not as par with other automobile OEMs like Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki. Also the worst is that it is a 6 day working company with no work and personal life balance. While other OEMs have shifted to 5 day working, it is still intact with 6 day working policy believing that it more efficient. Career growth is almost stagnant with new promotion and progression policy. Everyone from a 1 year experienced engineer to someone 10 years experience have the same designation as Senior Manager unlike other company which makes us feel awkward. For progression within the band and engineer have to spend may be minimum 3 to 4 yrs and there are 3 levels in a band. So all together if you consider minimum 3 yrs for progression, you might need 9 yrs for promotion from one band to another. All together there are 6 bands from L1 to L6.

There is huge scope of learning and the diversified knowledge. one can learn every aspect of automobile industry in this company. From design to development and manufacturing. Each department are experts to help you out.

Dislikes

Salary is not upto mark. Appraisal is very slow and promotion depend on work experience and not actual knowledge.

Good working environment and culture. Teammates are supportive and management is transparent.

Growth rate is low and salary is decent.
