The firm bears the surnames of its two founders, Sri Kerala Varma Kochunniappan Thampuran and Sri Kerala Varma Kunhappan Thampuran, who belonged to the erstwhile Royal family of Cochin. Starting with its first office in Kochi, the firm today has 31 partners located across 9 offices spread over the States of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana and, Maharashtra.
