STT GDC to invest ₹3,500 cr to set up data centre near Hyderabad
- STT GDC India has signed an agreement with the Telangana government to invest ₹3,500 crore in setting up a data centre near Hyderabad. The state-of-the-art AI-ready data centre campus will feature the latest technologies and have scalability. This investment aims to make Hyderabad the capital of data centres in the country. STT GDC India aims to achieve a design capacity of 1 GW across India in the next decade with an investment outlook of approximately $3.2 billion.
- The agreement was signed during a visit by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu in Singapore.
- The expansion in Telangana will further solidify STT GDC India's presence in the state. It currently operates a data centre in HITEC City, Hyderabad.
- STT GDC India manages one of the largest white space areas with over 390 MW of critical IT load spread across 30 facilities in 10 cities in India.
