Letters to the Editor dated June 10, 2025
- Maintaining the debt-to-GDP ratio at sustainable levels is crucial for India's sovereign credit ratings. Utilizing RBI's surplus through bond-switch operations can help smooth the redemption profile and reduce interest outflows. To succeed, sustained GDP and tax revenue growth, fiscal consolidation commitment, and favorable interest rates are necessary. State governments' cooperation in meeting fiscal targets is equally important.
- Royal Enfield's Cheyyar plant is transitioning into an all-women unit, following Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland's examples. This move signifies genuine women empowerment, with an increase in women employees from 5% to 20%. Encouraging women to take on shop floor roles like welding and assembling sends a positive message to the industry, promoting greater equality in the workforce.
- SaaS companies in India are observing revenue growth, indicating the country's digital aspirations. To maintain trust and innovation, ethical governance in the IT sector is essential. The proposal of an Information Technology Regulatory Authority aims to ensure fair practices, client trust, and a resilient digital economy. India can set a precedent by balancing digital growth with digital rights.
