- India's space industry is gaining momentum and the upcoming Union Budget is set to bolster it. India's space economy was valued at $8.4 billion and was 2% of the global space market last year. India aims to grow its space economy to $44 billion by 2033, including $11 billion in exports, to attain a 7-8% global share. - The Indian Space Research Organisation successfully completed its SpaDeX mission, making India the fourth country to achieve space docking alongside the United States, Russia, and China. The mission saw experiments from numerous Indian space startups. Noteworthy among these companies are Bellatrix Aerospace Pvt Ltd, Pixxel and Skyroot Aerospace, which focus on space-based data analytics, earth observation applications, and launch vehicle development. The 2025 Union Budget has the potential to solidify India's position as a global leader in drone technology, drive growth, create high-value jobs, and ensure technological sovereignty, he added.
