Dislikes

Being in media industry provides valuable access to events, ministries, agribusinesses, programs in New Delhi, allowing you to meet and network with people. However, I strongly advise against considering employment with organisations having any kind of attachment to one individual known as Dr. MJ Khan. The organisations under him are Agriculture Today Group, CARD NGO, ICFA and 10 other small companies we will never know about. The first interesting thing is how he has been putting money from his CARD NGO, a non-profit to pay salary for other for-profit companies and his extravaganza. That's a clear legal fault and anyone venturing legal action against him can pursue this trail. While Dr MJ Khan may possess knowledge from being in this agriculture sector for more than 25 years, his behaviour is far from humane. In the industry, he is widely regarded as untrustworthy and unreliable. His primary focus seems to be on personal financial gain, put money in personal real estate, instead of reinvesting in the magazine and event business and on welfare of the employees. SALARIES ARE OFTEN DELAYED, WITH SENIOR EMPLOYEES WAITING FOR 2-3 MONTHS OR EVEN INDEFINITELY, and junior employees receiving their pay no earlier than the 24th of the month. Khan sets unrealistic targets for his team and demonstrates POOR MANAGEMENT SKILLS. His definition of being corporate is to wear a good suit, clear shave, good haircut. That's it. No leadership skills. It is disheartening to note than Khan's behaviour extends to his failure to pay salaries on time while he indulges in personal trips to place like Amsterdam, working with his political party IMPAR, going to US to attend events like World Food Prize on his company's pocket. He attends meetings at agriculture ministry, Ambassadors, ostensibly for networking on behalf of his chamber, Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture (ICFA), which ultimately has a poor track record in terms of client retention. Working with him is an experience that you would undoubtedly want to avoid, as dealing with individuals like him can be a significant ordeal. Unfortunately, individuals like M J KHAN sometimes manage to thrive in the industry because few are willing to come forward and expose the toxic and malpractices and mistreatment of employees. You won't get your salary in lifetime, let alone 90 days until and unless you send a legal notice, as heard personally from previous employees. In last 20 years, more than 500 employees have left this organisation, That's an average of 22-25 because this place is all about hire and fire. Average tenure in all ATG, ICFA, CARD is 2-3 months. During this time, you can expect your salary to be consistently delayed, and you may be required to attend meetings without adequate funds for basic necessities such as food and transportation. The environment predominantly preys on freshers/people with long career gaps who believe in the reputation of a 25-year old brand, only to find out that it doesn't live up to their expectations. In summary, I strongly discourage anyone from considering employment with the toxic workplace. Only the HR and accountant seem to receive their salaries on time, others are left to endure a frustrating and mentally taxing experience. Your well-being and professional growth deserves a better environment than this. Trust me on this. Never work with a man called MJ Khan.
