Azure Cloud Engineer (Security and Networking Focused)

Role & responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage Azure networking solutions, including Virtual Networks, subnets, Network Security Groups, load balancers, Application Gateways.

Configure and optimize secure connectivity options such as VPNs, Azure Firewall and Bastion.

Develop and enforce Azure governance policies using Azure Policy and Blueprints.

Monitor network and security performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize configurations for maximum efficiency.

Collaborate with the Development teams to design secure infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, and Ansible.

Support compliance with regulatory standards such as GDPR, and ISO 27001.

Create and maintain detailed documentation of networking and security configurations, policies, and procedures.

Preferred candidate profile

Proven experience managing Azure networking components, such as Virtual Networks, Azure Load Balancers, Traffic Manager, and Application Gateway.

Strong understanding of VPNs, Azure Firewall, and secure connectivity solutions.

Expertise in Azure security tools, including Security Centre, Azure Sentinel, and Key Vault.

Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service, build, deploy, and managing AKS Linux containers.

Knowledge of encryption techniques for data at rest and in transit.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools like Azure DevOps, PowerShell, and Azure CLI in a source controlled environment.

Hands on experience with Linux administration and security.
