Zonal Business Manager (Pharmaceutical Industry)

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales and Business Development

• Develop and execute strategies to achieve zonal sales targets.
• Identify and penetrate new markets to expand the companys reach.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, distributors, and institutions.
• Analyze market trends and competitor activities to optimize sales strategies.

2. Team Management

• Lead, train, and motivate a team of Area Business Managers (ABMs) and Medical Representatives (MRs).
• Set clear performance expectations and provide continuous feedback and guidance.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and support team development.
• Address and resolve team-related challenges promptly.

3. Operational Excellence

• Monitor sales operations, including inventory, distribution, and compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with marketing and product teams to implement promotional activities.
• Ensure adherence to ethical sales practices and compliance with industry regulations.

4. Reporting and Analytics

• Prepare and present periodic sales reports and market analysis.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate zonal performance.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management.

5. Customer Relationship Management

• Foster strong relationships with healthcare professionals, KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders), and other stakeholders.
• Address customer complaints and feedback to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.

Required Skills and Expertise

1. Experience

• Educational Qualification: Graduate in Pharmacy/Life Sciences/Business Management; MBA preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 812 years in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role managing a team of ABMs or similar.

2. Technical Expertise

• In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical products, therapies, and industry trends.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets in a competitive market.
• Familiarity with CRM tools, sales analytics, and reporting systems.

3. Soft Skills

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
• Strategic thinking with problem-solving aptitude.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

4. Others

• Willingness to travel extensively within the zone.
