Release Engineer

 Role Description: 

We are seeking a skilled Release Engineer to lead the planning, execution, and optimization of our software delivery pipeline. The Release Engineer will play a pivotal role in streamlining the deployment of high-quality software products, ensuring stability, scalability, and efficiency across all environments. This position involves working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, automating release processes, and implementing cutting-edge tools and practices.

 Key Responsibilities: 

 Release Management & Deployment 

Own and manage the release processes for all products and platforms, ensuring timely and successful delivery.

Plan, coordinate, and execute software releases in collaboration with development, QA, product, and operations teams.

Build and maintain release schedules, documentation, and risk assessments for major and minor releases.

 CI/CD Pipeline Development & Optimization 

Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, and deployment processes.

Identify and address bottlenecks in the software delivery pipeline to improve efficiency and reliability.

Implement tools and techniques to reduce deployment times and increase release frequency.

 Environment & Configuration Management 

Oversee configurations and dependencies across various environments (development, staging, production).

Work with infrastructure teams to ensure environments are stable, scalable, and aligned with release requirements.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in staging and production environments related to releases.

 Collaboration & Communication 

Act as a pivot between development, QA, DevOps, and product teams to align release goals with organizational objectives.

Facilitate release-related communication and reporting to stakeholders.

Provide post-release support, gather feedback, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

 Quality Assurance & Compliance 

Ensure release artifacts meet quality standards and comply with security and governance policies.

Monitor releases post-deployment, identify issues, and coordinate rollback or remediation efforts as needed.

Maintain accurate and detailed release documentation, including release notes, change logs, and configuration settings.

 Skills & Qualifications: 

 Technical Skills: 

Strong experience with build and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps or similar)

Proficient in version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, Bitbucket).

Hands-on experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).

Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).

Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their deployment services.

Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality, error-free releases.

Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

 Preferred Skills: 

Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in Scrum teams.

Experience with microservices architecture and service-oriented deployments.

Understanding of security best practices for deployment and releases.

 Education & Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

4 – 6 years of experience in release engineering, DevOps, or a related role.

Proven experience as a Release Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar role.

Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle and release management processes

Certifications such as Azure /AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Administrator, or similar are a plus.
