Assistant Manager SCM - Electronics

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Vendor Development: Identify and develop vendors across the nation with expertise in electronic components, ensuring they meet quality and delivery expectations for defence manufacturing.
• Vendor Evaluation: Assess potential vendors based on their capability to deliver high-quality products on time, with proven records of reliability and compliance with industry standards.
• Technical Expertise: Familiarity with electronic manufacturing processes including PCB assembly, soldering, wiring, and testing of electronic modules, along with the understanding of both conventional and advanced electronic production techniques.
• Procurement Management: Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including requesting quotations, negotiating prices, issuing purchase orders, and following up on deliveries.
• Material Handling: Ensure the smooth handover of materials to stores and resolve any production issues arising due to material quality or supply chain delays.
• System Implementation: Implement and review daily procurement systems, and ensure adherence to internal SCM policies and procedures.
• Supplier Planning: Collaborate with suppliers to develop weekly and monthly plans to meet production and delivery targets.
• Problem Resolution: Address and rectify late deliveries or quality issues by providing timely feedback and solutions to vendors.
• Continuous Improvement: Work closely with vendors to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure continuous process improvements.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure that all electronic components and materials comply with defence industry standards and special processes.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Vendor Management: Proficiency in identifying and sustaining vendors for electronic parts and components.
• Production Oversight: Hands-on experience in supervising first-off production at vendor locations and supporting vendors through production challenges.
• Vendor Rating: Experience in rating and evaluating vendors based on quality, delivery time, and overall performance.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to provide actionable feedback to vendors to resolve issues related to quality and delivery timelines.
• Process Optimization: Proven ability to support, sustain, and improve vendor processes to drive productivity, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery.
• Experience in Special Processes: Knowledge of specialized processes in electronics manufacturing relevant to defence standards.

Educational Qualifications: Diploma/B.Tech in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related fields.

Experience: 7-12 years of experience in Supply Chain Management (SCM) for Electronics, preferably in the defence manufacturing sector.
