Software Test Engineer Senior

As a Lead Engineer of the test team, will be responsible for quality assurance of cloud-native enterprise software applications within Software Solutions organization.

You will be responsible for design, develop, and maintain performance testing frameworks, tools, scripts, plan and execute various types of performance tests (load, stress, scalability, etc.) to ensure product quality.

You should ensure quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked, and resolved in defect tracking system.

Role & responsibilities

• As part of solution test team member, Design, develop, and maintain performance testing frameworks, tools, and scripts.
• Plan and execute various types of performance tests (load, stress, scalability).
• Analyze test results and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
• Identify and analyze root causes of performance issues.
• Provide recommendations for performance improvements.
• Document performance issues and track their resolution.
• Work closely with development teams to integrate performance testing into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Collaborate with product and testing teams to identify key performance scenarios
• Prepare comprehensive performance test reports for stakeholders.
• Explain technical performance issues to non-technical team members.

Additional responsibilities will be

• Be part of the initiatives to drive test effectiveness and test efficiencies to increase the teams value.
• Mentoring, guiding, leading and developing emerging test engineers and specialists within the team.
• Influence load and performance requirements & system test suits while working with product managers, system engineers & other work partners during requirements and Planning cycles.
• Meet with customers, partners, product managers and business leaders to present findings, predictions, foresights; Capture customer specific requirements of business problems/processes.
• Help build self-sustaining stronger System & Solution Test team.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech in Computer Science, ECE, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience with proven track record as load and performance test engineer to test web-based and mobile applications. preferably in cloud-native environments.
• Proficiency in performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner or BlazeMeter.
• Experience with cloud-based performance testing platforms and GCP, Azure or AWS cloud services.
• Experience testing microservices and containerized applications.
• Proven experience in performance testing Android and iOS applications and knowledge of mobile-specific performance metrics & challenges.
• API performance testing skills.
• Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java or JavaScript).
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in cloud-native environments and services.
• Proficiency in performance testing tools and frameworks, particularly those suitable for cloud and mobile environments.

Ability to write and maintain complex test scripts for both cloud and mobile environments.
