Java Developer - Senior software Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Collaborate with other functions such as Operations, Testing and Product management in translating Product Requirements to functional modules
• Take a hands-on approach in mentoring/coaching junior team members in translating designs to product code / debugging
• Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product
• Develop high-level design specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
• Monitor code quality and take corrective measures where required
• Successfully communicate all concepts and guidelines to junior team members
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers
• Ensure the software module meets all requirements of quality, security, maintainability, extensibility etc.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong knowledge of core Java and Web Programming
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming
• Experience in developing / consuming Web Services using Spring framework
• Understanding of MVC design patterns, RESTful Services, XML/JSON
• Good understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3; knowledge and experience in Angular will be an added advantage.
• Understanding fundamental design principles that power a scalable application
• Experience with MySQL creation of database schemas, SQL
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Proficiency of Linux operating system and basic shell programming will be an added advantage
• Experience working in a cloud environment will be an added advantage.
