Job Summary:
As the Labour Compliance Manager, he/she will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all applicable labour laws and regulations for our clients. Work closely with the internal team, external consultants, and government authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of all relevant labour laws, regulations, and industry standards applicable in the state and India.
Establish and implement effective compliance policies, procedures, and controls to ensure adherence to labour laws and regulations, including but not limited to:
Minimum wage laws
Working hours and overtime regulations
Employment contracts and agreements
Employee benefits and entitlement
The Payment of Gratuity Act
Employees Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act
Employees State Insurance Act
Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act
Labour Welfare Fund Acts, Minimum Wages Act
Payment of Bonus Act
Shops and establishments act,
Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act
Maintaining registered and periodical filing relating to above Acts
Provide guidance, training, and support to clients and clients employees on labour law compliance requirements, policies, and best practices.
Stay informed about changes in labour laws, regulations, and industry trends, and proactively communicate updates and implications to relevant stakeholders.
Respond promptly and effectively to inquiries, complaints, or legal issues related to labour law compliance received from the clients and resolve them in a timely manner.
Keep accurate records, documentation, and reports related to labour law compliance activities, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity for clients.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or certification in Labour Law or Compliance preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience in labour law compliance, human resources, legal, or a related field, with specific expertise in Indian labour laws and regulations.
Strong knowledge of applicable labour laws, regulations, and compliance requirements in India, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively in a corporate setting.
Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with compliance management software or tools is a plus.
