Consultant - Business Continuity

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Consultant specializing in Business Continuity to join our team who will assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) in alignment with industry standards such as ISO 22301. The role will focus on supporting the facilitation of business impact analysis, risk assessments, and the development of business continuity and disaster recovery strategies, and documentation. The Consultant will plan, conduct, and evaluate regular mock-disaster exercises to test the adequacy of existing plans and strategies, ensuring continuous improvement through regular updates of procedures and plans. The Consultant will coordinate with various Business Units and Shared Services functions, conducting audits and reviews to ensure organizational readiness against unexpected disruptions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of business continuity policies, procedures, and plans in line with industry best practices.
• Facilitate Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to identify critical business processes, resources, and interdependencies across the organization.
• Support the identification and assessment of risks, threats, and vulnerabilities that could impact business operations.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to recommend and assist in implementing mitigation strategies that enhance organizational resilience.
• Assist in developing and maintaining Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) for business units and shared services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to document and refine recovery strategies for critical functions and processes.
• Ensure BCPs are periodically reviewed, tested, and updated to reflect changing needs and lessons learned.
• Support the development and delivery of training programs to promote awareness, preparedness, and a culture of resilience across the organization.
• Coordinate and assist in the planning and execution of BCP/DR drills and tabletop exercises to validate the effectiveness of continuity strategies.
• Provide support for the development and execution of the organization’s crisis management framework.
• Act as a supporting point of contact during incidents, aiding in effective communication and coordination among teams.
• Collaborate with health, safety, and security staff, as well as local authorities, to align the organization’s emergency management plans with best practices and community standards.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 22301) and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external BCMS audits, assisting in addressing findings and resolving non-conformities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to support business continuity and organizational resilience initiatives.
