Senior CAD Technician - Piping Checker

As the Senior CAD Technician - Piping Checker, you will be responsible for reviewing, checking piping designs created by our CAD team to ensure accuracy, compliance with industry standards, and adherence to project requirements. You will work closely with our design engineers and project managers to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues in the piping designs, ultimately ensuring that our projects are completed to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Proficient in executing work independently using intelligent 3D CAD system like Cadworx, Plant 3D, Autoplant 3D / Open Plant Modeller, SP3D, E3D.
• Work with Lead group of Piping Designers to develop concepts / conceptual studies, Equipment Layouts / piping layouts effectively to meet project requirements.
• Modelling Equipments Pipe routings in accordance with PID s, equipment data sheet / Vendor data sheets independently.
• Extraction / Preparation of Equipment layout drawings, Piping General Arrangement, Pipe Support General Arrangements, Safety layouts.
• Guiding a group of piping designers on 3D modelling / Piping modelling to meet client requirements.
• Extraction annotation of Piping Isometrics.
• Co-ordinate with inter disciplines in timely manner to avoid rework for finalizing the piping design.
• Prepare Piping MTO s.
• Should be an active team player.
• Plan deliver assigned tasks accurately within the agreed time line.
• Prioritize activities and effectively manage conflicting deadlines ensuring continued progress to mee the schedule. Proactively provide Lead with status updates.
• Excellent knowledge in ASME codes standards.
• Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
• Performs engineering tasks, within a discipline, having some degree of complexity.
• Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort.
• Coordinates to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents.
• Reviews or defines engineering scope changes, as required, for project management.
• Supports the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

Education Qualification:

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years to 15 years of technical experience required.
• Design experience with clients from USA, Canada will be an advantage.
• Excellent communication interpersonal skills required.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in piping design and extensive experience using CAD software, such as AutoCAD or Revit. In addition, they should possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
