Engineer - Rock Mechanics
Job Description
Educational level: Master’s degree in civil engineering specializing in Rock engineering
Number of years of experience: Minimum 3 years
Type of experience:
1. Knowledge of working with Eurocodes
2. Knowledge of working in multidisciplinary large urban infrastructure projects e.g linear
infrastructure
3. Knowledge of the complexity regarding soft soil and rock conditions
4. Rock Excavation methods, both TBM and drill & blast
5. Rock Reinforcement and Grouting analysis and design
6. Rock Mechanics Modelling
7. As-build drawings
8. FEM-simulations
9. DFN fracture modelling
Requirements:
You need to have very good communication skills in English both in speaking and writing.
You need to be able to prepare clear and detailed technical documentation.
You need to have strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
You need to be able to adapt to new tools and technologies.
You need to have a proactive approach to continuing education and professional development.
You need to have strong analytical skills. Demonstrating problem-solving skills by suggesting
alternatives or improvements.
You need to have critical thinking. Before raising questions or geƫng to work, it's important to
analyze the task instruction thoroughly. This involves understanding the objectives, identifying any
potential issues or unclear aspects, and considering alternative approaches if necessary. This also
means asking questions if unsure before commiƫng to a task.
You need to have medium to high level experience in the majority of the following computer
softwares:
· Autocad Civil 3D, Microstation
· RS3, Midas GTS
· Grasshopper
· Navisworks
· SWedge, UnWedge, DIPS
