Senior CAD Technician - Water & Wastewater

Role Summary

This role is to work as part of WSP Integrated Complementary Resource Centre (iCRC) Engineering team and taking a role in the production of detailed Civil drawings in Civil 3D, Microstation and Similar applications.  The individual will be involved in the Civil design for various water, wastewater and conveyance projects in Canada (Treatment Plants, Pumping Stations etc.)

Responsibilities

• Expertise in Civil 3D and MicroStation with Working knowledge in projects from concept to completion.
• Through understanding in creating surfaces, corridors, pipe and pressure networks, plan and profiles, sections, grading and volume’s calculation.
• Experience in preparing drawings for lift stations, pump stations and other mechanical equipment associated with Water & Wastewater utilities adhering to company BIM/CAD standards. 
• Understanding of Revit modeling and functionality
• Responsible for CAD standards, implementation, and enforcement
• Agree priorities and deadlines for drawing production with iCRC-coordinator
• Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all drawings produced
• Input to the co-ordination of engineering services on projects
• Complete design sketches for information in tender documents for small / routine work
• Provide advice and coaching to technicians on intermediate Civil 3D/Microstation functions when requested
• Follow QA, document control, archiving guidelines on all work
• Work with project team members on specified aspects of the project
• Other duties as assigned/required.

Key Competencies / Skills / Qualifications

• Minimum 8 - 12 Years of hands-on Experience in AutoCAD drafting and design
• Working experience in US/Canadian BIM/CAD Projects
• Knowledge in Civil 3D and MicroStation software is mandatory.
• Worked on large projects using ACC, BIM360 & ProjectWise collaboration platforms
• Must be a team player and work well within a team environment
• Experience on a number of projects across different sectors
• Willing to learn

Desired Skills

• Knowledge or Experience in Dynamo for Civil 3D
• knowledge of Recap and Infraworks
• Knowledge of Revit, Navisworks

B.E.(Civil), B.Tech Civil, Diploma
