The Freespace Business Intelligence team's mission is to ensure clients can make the right decisions with the right data and demonstrate the value of all our Freespace products and services through our BI solutions.

Overview of Role

We are seeking an Analytics Tech Lead to play a central role in driving the transformation of our Business Intelligent services. Its an exciting time as our strategy looks to transform our service to enable clients to take more ownership and self-service on data and insights across all Freespace products while BI drive exceptional value by creating intelligent, behavioural analysis & data modelling solutions which empowering clients to make long term strategic real estate decisions and create impactful office design solutions.

As the Tech Lead, you will have overall responsibility for the Engineering team, you will lead a talented, cross-functional team all passionate about data and analytics services. You will work closely with the product manager and client-facing teams to ensure client needs are translated into impactful technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a cross-functional analytics team, including Full Stack Developers and Tableau Data Analysts, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery of solutions.
• Delivery Oversight: Manage the execution of the product roadmap, using an agile, scrum-based process, and work closely with product and technical managers to align on priorities.
• Architecture & Strategy: Work with the Architecture team to define and implement a modern data architecture using AWS services. Guide the migration of BI data from legacy pipelines to new AWS-powered data lakes and data warehouses in meeting the future strategy of BI.
• AI/ML Vision: Play a key role in implementing future AI and ML capabilities for Freespace's analytics solutions. Bring technical understanding of the opportunities to create AI & ML solutions to meet the use cases for Freespace.
• SaaS Transition: Contribute to the transformation of Freespaces offering into a central SaaS analytics platform, consolidating web and Tableau analytics into a unified, scalable solution for clients.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with senior technical leads to ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and organizational technology standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation and process improvements, fostering a data-driven culture within the team and broader organization.

Key Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

• Data Analysis & Development: Expertise in Python for data manipulation and SQL for complex querying and optimization. Extensive experience developing and managing ETL pipelines to efficiently process and transform data.
• Cloud & AWS Expertise: Ideally, proficient with AWS services such as Lambda, Glue, S3, and Redshift, with hands-on experience building scalable data architectures in the cloud. Familiar with serverless and microservices architectures.
• Data Architecture & AI/ML: Strong understanding of data architecture principles, with experience designing and optimizing data pipelines. Practical knowledge of integrating AI/ML models into production environments.
• Full Stack Knowledge: Familiarity with React for front-end development and Node.js for back-end services, with experience collaborating in full-stack environments.
• Agile Development: Experience working in Agile methodologies, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality solutions in fast-paced, iterative cycles.
• Visualization & Reporting: Skilled in Tableau (or similar BI tools) to create data visualizations and dashboards that provide actionable insights for business stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data analysis, engineering, or science, with a strong background in cloud-based data solutions.
• At least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, ETL processes, and AI/ML techniques.
• Familiarity with React/Node.js and Agile development practices.
