Position Overview:The Infirmary Incharge is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the infirmary or medical facility within an organization. This role includes managing the health services provided to employees, students, or members, ensuring the proper functioning of the facility, and providing immediate medical assistance when needed. The Infirmary Incharge will supervise medical staff, maintain health records, coordinate with external healthcare providers, and ensure compliance with health regulations and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision of Infirmary Operations: Oversee the daily activities of the infirmary, ensuring the availability of medical supplies, clean and safe facilities, and timely services to those in need. Medical Care: Provide first aid and basic medical treatment for minor injuries or illnesses. Manage emergencies and decide when to refer individuals to higher medical authorities, such as hospitals. Staff Management: Supervise and manage nursing or support staff within the infirmary, ensuring that duties are carried out efficiently and effectively. Schedule shifts, provide training, and assess staff performance.
Health Record Management: Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for patients, documenting visits, treatments, and medications administered. Ensure compliance with legal and organizational health privacy regulations. Coordination with External Healthcare Providers: Establish and maintain relationships with local healthcare professionals, hospitals, and clinics for referrals, medical consultations, and emergencies. Health Promotion and Education: Promote health and wellness programs within the organization, including awareness campaigns, hygiene practices, and preventative health measures. Inventory Management: Ensure that the infirmary is stocked with necessary medical supplies, including medications, first aid kits, and other healthcare items. Manage procurement and inventory control.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency medical protocols for dealing with workplace injuries, accidents, and other health-related emergencies. Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all medical practices adhere to health and safety regulations, as well as any relevant laws or standards (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA). Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular reports to management on the health and safety status within the organization, including statistics on injuries, illnesses, and treatments provided.
