Associate Director/Senior Vice President - Development Corporate Relation
Position Overview:
- We are seeking an organized, efficient, and communicative AVP candidate for Permitting / Regulatory Compliance in Mumbai-Pune Region.
- Candidate will be a Part of Corporate Relations team and is responsible for a regulatory / permitting compliances including procuring various permits / approvals / licenses for all Construction Projects as well as to support in real asset due diligence proactively to enable regulatory compliances and avoids reputational damages and enables business growth and sustenance.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Candidate is accountable for implementing & overseeing the execution of compliance standards and controls related to licenses and permits for Regional Projects by ensuring compliance with laws and regulations that govern real estate construction licenses / approvals and permits.
- Leads enterprise-wide teams in the implementation of standard operating procedures and internal controls to ensure licenses and permits are procured in a compliant manner.
- Ensures that an accurate and current listing of all required permits and licenses requirements at central, state and municipal level is maintained in the license and permits system.
- Identifies required operational controls and documentation that must be in place in support of permits and licenses requirements, designs and implements the same.
- Accountable for working directly with government officials on permit & licensing requirements for SRA, MMRDA, MAHADA, RERA, FIRE, SAFETY, SHOPS & Establishments, Compliance, etc.
- Provides performance management, coaching and development to a team of licenses and permits.
- The position is accountable to manage the Knowledge management of the group and work in close collaboration with the leads and the legal team.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Accountable to develop, implement and oversee all company licenses and permits requirements, and to ensure the timely procurement, renewal ,Knowledge management and amendment.
- Drives and influences licensing and permit strategies and objectives, with a mandate to ensure that Group possesses all necessary central, state and municipal licenses and permits and is accountable for ensuring that Group is operating in compliance with the terms and conditions of such licenses and permits.
- Accountable for overseeing the implementation of compliance requirements associated with new business opportunities and expanded scope of practice and is the subject matter expert on licenses and permits for these strategic initiatives.
Key Success Factors:
- Business understanding preferably in large real estate acquisition, high-rise development & operational projects for IT/ITeS, Hi-Tech, Industrial, SEZ, Commercial & mixed-use operations
- Deep understanding & familiarity on the end to end permitting / regulatory compliance requirements
- Relationships & familiarity with various local, city level, state level and central authorities
- Similar Projects direct liaising experience with Government Authorities (Local Bodies, State Govt., Central Govt.)
- Technical (e.g., familiarity with Planning, Building, Environmental, Fire, Aviation, other acts/rules/notifications/regulations and preparing Methods of Procedure and scopes of work in consultation with Subject Matter Experts, ability to read and understand technical drawings and services drawings)
- Commercial (e.g., Partner / Consultant / Professional Agencies Engaging, Contractor Management, Risk Assessment and Reporting)
- Strong Program Management Skills (including training/certification(s) in Permit / Compliance Management)
- Legal (clear understanding of legal and regulatory requirements/concepts as it relates to Statutory Approvals)
- Financial (e.g., Contract/Budget management and forecasting, understanding and executing Contract Variations)
- Effectively and proactively tracking compliances across various clearances/consents/approvals/licenses/permits secured during entire project / development cycle.
- Strong and demonstrable written and verbal communication skills (comfortable presenting in front of government and public audiences)
- Ability to organize, manage, and host conference calls with project stakeholders
- Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project and MS PowerPoint (AutoCAD will be an added advantage)
