Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Shift4Shop Developer to join our dynamic eCommerce development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building and customizing eCommerce platforms, with specific expertise in Shift4Shop. As a Shift4Shop Developer, you will be responsible for creating customized solutions, integrating third-party services, and ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience for our customers. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into functional and visually appealing eCommerce websites.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Platform Development and Customization : Develop, customize, and maintain Shift4Shop eCommerce platforms to meet client requirements. Implement site layout, features, and product pages according to specifications.

Integration of Third-Party Services : Integrate various third-party applications, plugins, and APIs with Shift4Shop to enhance functionality, including payment gateways, shipping services, CRM, and other tools as required.

UI/UX Optimization : Collaborate with design and marketing teams to ensure optimal user experience, implementing design changes that improve navigation, accessibility, and overall site performance.

Performance and Security Enhancement : Optimize the website for maximum speed, scalability, and security. Regularly monitor performance metrics and apply necessary updates to maintain platform stability and security.

Troubleshooting and Debugging : Diagnose and resolve technical issues on the Shift4Shop platform, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution for any user-impacting issues.

Client Consultation and Reporting : Work closely with clients to understand their needs, provide regular progress updates, and suggest improvements to meet evolving business goals.

Training and Documentation : Provide training and documentation for clients and internal teams to manage day-to-day operations on the Shift4Shop platform effectively.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Shift4Shop Expertise : Deep knowledge of Shift4Shop platform functionality, customization, and best practices for eCommerce development.

Front-End Development : Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design. Experience with modern front-end frameworks is a plus.

Back-End Development : Familiarity with backend technologies, including PHP, MySQL, and web hosting environments compatible with Shift4Shop.

API and Plugin Integration : Proven experience integrating APIs and third-party plugins, including payment processors, analytics tools, and other relevant services.

SEO and Analytics : Strong understanding of SEO principles, web analytics, and conversion rate optimization to support business objectives and increase online sales.

Version Control Systems : Experience using Git or other version control systems for source code management and collaboration.

Problem-Solving Abilities : Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills to resolve technical issues promptly.

Project Management Skills : Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Communication Skills : Strong interpersonal skills for client interaction, clear technical documentation, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualification & Experience Required

Educational Background : Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may also be considered.
Experience : 3+ years of professional experience in eCommerce development, with a minimum of 1 year specializing in the Shift4Shop platform.
Certifications : Certifications in web development, eCommerce, or related fields are advantageous.
Portfolio : A strong portfolio demonstrating past projects and experience with Shift4Shop or similar eCommerce platforms is preferred.
