Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy big data solutions using Scala and Spark.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Develop complex algorithms for data processing and analysis using Hadoop technologies (HDFS, MapReduce).
• Implement real-time data pipelines using Kafka messaging queues.
• Troubleshoot issues related to big data processing workflows.

Preferred candidate profile

We are looking for a candidate with 5+ yrs experience in developing a Data Engineering platform, you should also have hands-on experience in most of the following key areas:

• Hands on enterprise experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Data Visualization like Splunk, Qlik & Grafana
• Object-oriented/object function scripting languages in Python and R
• Working with raw data, structured, semi-structured and unstructured data (SQL and NoSQL) Experience combining large, disconnected datasets using relevant tools and frameworks
• Building and optimizing ETL / ELT data pipelines
• Experience of source control, Continuous Integration, Delivery and Deployment through CICD Pipelines
• Supporting and working with BI and Analytics teams in a dynamic environment Able to collaborate and effectively pair program with other engineers
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills Knowledge of Scrum, Kanban or other agile frameworks is beneficial Work with Agile methodology, representing the Pod and Area lead in standups and problem-solving meetings
• Drive the creation of technical test plans and records, including unit and integration tests, within automated test environments to ensure code quality
• Enables SRE culture through solving problems with data engineering
