Role & responsibilities

This position will require you to:

• Perform Database /ETL and Power BI testing
• Good to have Azure related testing experience like validating ADLS files, ADF Pipelines, Logic App, SSMS, Performing aggregate checks along with source Vs target counts and data reconciliation
• Work with a close-knit team to identify trends, bugs, and escalate priority issues that need immediate attention
• Influence key Go/No Go decisions on product readiness
• Perform thorough regression testing of existing applications before major releases
• Be the champion of quality in every phase of the development process
• Own and drive software quality assurance lifecycle as part of SCRUM/Agile processes and deliver high-quality releases on time
• Actively participate in agile meetings with product and program management and engineering
• Interact with business product managers to clarify requirements and drive projects to ensure on-time completion
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage by filing extensive bugs, defects and improvements and verifying their fixes
• Work closely with Product Managers to design and implement detailed and well-structured test plans and test procedures
• Inform Product Managers in a timely and clear manner regarding progress on tasks and of issues needing immediate remediation or escalation
• Proactive attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done in excellence
• Assume ownership for deliverables, accepts direction and feedback from co-workers and manager
• Highly flexible attitude and ability to quickly shift gears with multiple and shifting priorities and differing levels of ambiguity
• Proactively participate in maintaining team standards and best practices
• Maintain high responsiveness and excellent cross-team collaboration The ideal candidate will also be forward thinking, keeping abreast of new tools and working with the QA organization to integrate new practices into existing processes. This role will be primarily Database, ETL, BI report testing and manual testing with knowledge of automation testing

Primary Skills (Must Have experience):

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems and/or a minimum of 10+ years of equivalent work experience
• A minimum of 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance
• A minimum of 5+ years experience in Database testing and designing test plan/ strategy and test cases
• A minimum of 4+ years of experience in leading Quality Assurance teams (Minimum of 5+ team members)
• Should have strong testing experience in DB/ ETL/ Power BI Reports
• Should have extensive experience testing Database centric application that involves complex data flows and transformations
• Should have good experience in writing complex SQL (t-SQL) queries
• Execute Stored Procs, Functions to test them
• Good to have – write stored procedures using moderate/complex SQL queries
• Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices
• Should have experience in capturing test results against the data
• Knowledge of unit testing, integration testing, functional testing, and automation testing
• Experience in evaluating tools as per project needs
• Experience in interacting with customers and understand their requirements
• Passion for defining and improving QA practices for mobile technologies
• Disciplined approach to testing and documentation
• Ability to define and document best practices and standards and always on lookout of new ways to improving the QA process
• Experience in creating quality dashboards and other metrics
• Experience with defect reporting and escalation procedures to Senior Management
• Strong organization, collaboration, and time management skills
• Must be good in mentoring team member
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Team-player attitude and the ability to work in a multi-tasking, cross-collaborative fast spaced environment, driving other people for the common goal
• Must be able to identify and learn new technologies quickly
• Independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction
