Job Description

Position Overview:

The Senior Instructor Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) will be responsible for the regional coordination and execution of all HSE training initiatives, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. This role involves conducting training needs analysis (TNA), developing customized training programs, managing client relationships, conducting site visits, and ensuring the effective implementation of HSE procedures. The position also requires preparing detailed reports, documentation, and other essential records to maintain regional HSE standards.


  • Regional HSE Training:
    • Develop, implement, and coordinate regional HSE training programs to enhance employee awareness and compliance with HSE policies and regulations.
    • Conduct training sessions and workshops for employees and contractors, ensuring they are aligned with industry standards, regulations, and client requirements.
    • Develop and update training materials and resources to reflect changes in regulations, company policies, or client-specific needs.
    • Ensure that training records are maintained accurately and efficiently.

  • Training Needs Analysis (TNA):
    • Perform Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify skill gaps and knowledge deficiencies in regional teams.
    • Collaborate with relevant departments to develop targeted training programs that address the identified needs.
    • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, performance assessments, and ongoing monitoring.

  • Client Interaction:
    • Act as the primary HSE training liaison for clients, attending meetings to understand client needs and expectations related to HSE.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction with training services and solutions.
    • Prepare and deliver client-specific HSE training sessions, adapting materials as required to meet client-specific requirements.

  • Site Visits and Audits:
    • Conduct regular site visits to ensure HSE compliance across all operational areas.
    • Identify potential HSE hazards and offer corrective actions and recommendations during trainings.

  • HSE Preparation & Reporting:
    • Prepare and deliver monthly HSE reports for senior management, outlining key training activities, site visit findings, and overall regional HSE performance.
    • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to training and safety activities, making recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Continuously review and improve HSE training programs, methodologies, and content.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and legal/regulatory changes to ensure training programs are current and effective.

  • Other Duties:
    • Assist in promoting a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.
    • Conduct TOT.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or ADIS. Additional certifications in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HSE roles, with at least 3 years in a senior instructor or similar capacity.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering HSE training programs, with expertise in Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and competency assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both employees and clients.
  • Ability to conduct site assessments, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Proficient in preparing and presenting reports, using relevant HSE software and tools.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites and locations on daily basis.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in HSE program management across multiple sites or regions.
  • Knowledge of specific industry HSE standards (e.g., construction, oil & gas, manufacturing,etc).
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements specific to the region.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to conduct site visits and inspections in various environments, including outdoor and potentially hazardous settings.

Ability to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate client schedules or urgent HSE matters.
