Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with a minimum of 10+ years of experience specializing in MySQL. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of database architecture, management, and optimization. You will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our databases.



Key Responsibilities:

Database Management:

• Install, configure, and maintain MySQL database servers and processes.
• Monitor system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
• Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and defragmentation.

Log Shipping and Replication:

• Set up and manage MySQL log shipping for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Implement and maintain replication strategies to ensure data redundancy and reliability.
• Monitor replication processes and resolve any issues promptly.

Performance Tuning and Optimization:

• Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and schema refinement.
• Analyze and resolve database performance issues, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies.
• Conduct regular performance tuning and capacity planning.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Manage user access controls and permissions.

Backup and Recovery:

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust backup and recovery procedures.
• Conduct regular backups and perform test restores to ensure data integrity.
• Plan and execute disaster recovery strategies.

Automation and Scripting:

• Develop scripts to automate routine database tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Implement monitoring tools and automated alerts for proactive database management.

Documentation and Support:

• Create and maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
• Provide technical support and guidance to developers and other team members.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to database-related incidents.

Qualifications:

• MCA, B.Tech, M.Tech
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a strong focus on MySQL.

Skills:

• Proficiency in MySQL database administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Experience with database backup and recovery, disaster recovery planning, and high availability solutions.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with query optimization and performance tuning.

• Familiarity with database security practices and compliance requirements.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
