Functional + Automation QA Engineer Mumbai, Maharashtra
Work Type: Full Time
The QA Engineer will focus on manual testing and the development and execution of automated scripts to validate the functionality and usability of applications under test. This role requires expertise in functional testing, automation testing using Selenium with Java, and a basic understanding of databases and SQL queries.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining test cases to ensure high-quality software deliverables. Additionally, they will provide test metrics and communicate any risks or concerns affecting project schedules to the Test Lead.
Key Responsibilities - Analyze business requirements and specifications to develop effective test plans.
- Design, execute, and maintain test cases for functional , regression , and system testing .
- Identify and document defects using automated defect tracking tools.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing.
- Provide test status updates and raise issues or risks to the Test Lead.
- Execute functional testing while identifying opportunities for automation.
- Create and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and Java.
- Design and implement scalable test frameworks for efficiency.
- Integrate automation scripts into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Git.
- Continuously enhance the automation suite for improved reliability.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 5 years of experience in software testing, with strong exposure to Agile methodologies.
- Functional Testing Expertise: Skilled in creating test cases and executing functional testing.
- Automation Skills:
- 3+ years of experience with Selenium and Java for automation.
- Good understanding of Jenkins and Git.
- Database Knowledge: Proficient in database testing and validation using SQL queries.
- Proficient in using test management and defect-tracking tools.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to learn new techniques and adapt to emerging technologies.
- Highly organized, with sound decision-making and accountability.
- Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
