Branch Accountant

Role & responsibilities

• Manage all accounting transactions for the branch.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports (e.g., monthly and annual accounts).
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements.
• Analyze financial information to identify discrepancies and resolve them.
• Review financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Monitor and report on financial performance metrics.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Collaborate with auditors and ensure timely audit completion.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and other reports required by regulatory agencies and stakeholders.

Preferred candidate profile :

• Proven work experience as a Branch Accountant or in a similar role.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience in managing financial transactions and preparing financial reports.
• Knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to adapt to changes in accounting software and technologies.
