Security Engineer - Cloud

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Security Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing the security of our cloud-based systems, with a focus on an enterprise cloud environment, messaging platform, and other security-related tools.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures and solutions.
• Implement and manage security controls across all cloud services
• Conduct security assessments of cloud architectures and recommend improvements
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents in the cloud environment.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure the secure operation of our cloud-based systems.
• Analyze security data from various sources, including security tools, system logs, and other sources, to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Participate in the implementation and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and standards
• Assist in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
• Respond to security incidents and provide timely resolution to minimize the impact of threats and breaches

QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications include:

• Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification from Google is required
• 5+ years of experience in cloud security, proven experience as a Cloud Security Engineer or similar role.
• Experience with XDR and other security-related tools.
• Proficient in security technologies of cloud platforms and their security features including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, anti-virus software, data loss prevention, and encryption.
• Understanding of network protocols, data flows, DNS, and other network concepts. The candidate should also be familiar with secure cloud network design principles.
• Ability to script or code can be beneficial for automating security processes. Languages might include Python, Bash, or Java
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Additional Certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, ISC2) are a plus.
