Executive / Sr. Executive Legal

Job Summary:

The Legal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the legal aspects of the companys operations. This role includes ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, managing legal risks, handling contracts, and providing legal advice to various departments. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in carrier law & commercial law, excellent negotiation skills, and experience in the logistics industry.

Role & responsibilities

1. Legal Compliance:

• Ensure the companys compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Monitor changes in legislation and update company policies accordingly.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments.

2. Contract Management:

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Ensure that all contracts comply with legal requirements and company policies.

3. License Renewal & Regulatory Affairs;

• Timely renewal of licences applicable to the organisation like FSSAI, Carriage by Road Act,
  Trade license, etc.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure timely filings and registrations.
• Handle regulatory inspections and investigations.
• Stay updated on industry-specific regulations and ensure the companies adherence.

4. Risk Management:

• Identify and assess legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Provide legal advice on potential risks and recommend solutions.
• Handle disputes and litigation for and against eh company, including managing external legal counsel.

5. Legal Advisory:

• Filing police compliant and registering FIR on behalf of the company.
• Provide legal advice and support to various departments, including operations, finance, HR, and sales.
• Assist in the development of company policies and procedures.
• Conduct training sessions on legal and compliance matters for staff.

6. Dispute Resolution & Recovery:

• Manage and resolve legal disputes, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
• Recovery of outstanding dues through arbitration.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings as required.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution. A Masters degree (LLM) is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal role, preferably within the logistics or transportation industry.
• Strong knowledge of carrier law& commercial law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in handling corporate governance matters and managing legal risks.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
