Job Description: Dispatch Manager Luggage Industry
Position Title: Dispatch Manager
Department: Logistics
Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in dispatch, logistics, or supply chain management, ideally within the luggage, retail, or manufacturing industry.
Location: Neemrana, Rajasthan
Reports To: Operations Manager / Logistics Manager
Job Overview:
The Dispatch Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of the dispatch process within the luggage industry, ensuring timely, efficient, and cost-effective shipment of products to customers. This role requires strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills to coordinate between production, warehouse, and delivery teams. The Dispatch Manager will play a crucial role in optimizing processes, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Dispatch Operations Management:
1) Oversee day-to-day dispatch operations, ensuring that products are shipped on time and in perfect condition.
2) Develop and implement efficient dispatch processes and procedures to meet delivery deadlines and customer expectations.
3) Monitor the order picking, packing, and dispatch process to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
4) Coordinate with production, warehouse, and sales teams to ensure timely product availability for dispatch.
5) Working: Knowledge of Uniware Software and MS Software.
2. Team Leadership and Supervision:
1) Lead and supervise a team of dispatchers, warehouse staff, and delivery personnel.
2) Schedule and allocate tasks to ensure smooth operations and optimize team performance.
3) Train, mentor, and develop staff to ensure high standards of performance and safety in dispatch activities.
4) Conduct regular performance reviews, manage absenteeism, and ensure team morale and motivation.
3. FG & Warehouse Management:
1) Oversee the tracking and management of inventory levels in relation to dispatch requirements.
2) Ensure accurate stock levels, preventing overstocking or stockouts in line with dispatch needs.
3) Maintain accurate records and update stock counts regularly on MIS drive.
4) Maintaining regular stock inward & outward by scanning of bar codes.
4. Reporting and Documentation:
1) Maintain detailed records of dispatch operations, including delivery schedules, inventory, and customer communications.
2) Generate and submit regular reports on dispatch performance, including delivery times, order accuracy, and team performance.
3) Implement and maintain dispatch-related documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
5. Process Improvement:
1) Continuously assess and improve dispatch workflows to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve delivery times.
2) Identify and implement best practices, new technologies, or tools to enhance operational performance.
3) Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to dispatch and logistics, making recommendations for improvement.
6. Safety & Compliance:
1) Ensure that all dispatch activities comply with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
2) Conduct regular safety checks on vehicles and equipment, ensuring they meet all necessary standards.
3) Implement safety training programs for the dispatch team to minimize accidents and injuries.
7. Vendor & Carrier Coordination:
1) Manage relationships with external logistics providers, including courier companies, freight carriers, and third-party logistics (3PL) partners.
2) Negotiate delivery rates, timelines, and service agreements to ensure cost-effective and reliable dispatch services.
3) Track shipments and resolve any issues related to third-party carriers or external vendors.
