Business Analyst

Profile Summary

• The purpose of the Business Analyst in Investment Management Future State Operating Model (FSOM) would be to manage execution of strategic roadmap and establishing the Security Master and IBOR information.
• Understand the business requirements, and partner with teams to ensure roadmap aligns to priority business needs.
• Bring strategic roadmap down to level of specific Epics and Features of work for the Development Team and drive the implementation.
• Partner with Data Analysts and Engineers to provide clarification of user stories, business requirements, and aid testing.
• Liaison with Technology and Business teams to support testing and data validation of reports and analytical models.

Job Responsibilities

• Be the voice of the customers understand the business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Work with the business partners and stakeholders, in particular Investment Operations covering IBOR, Pricing and Security Master functions.
• Translate Business Functional requirements into Investment Operations Requirements, partnering with the data modelers on the modeling solution.
• Engage with project teams in terms of understanding the data models and relationships.
• Owns and manages the Product Backlog effectively to maximize the delivered value, including developing and clearly communicating sprint goals and priorities.
• Create and clearly articulate product backlog items, ensure that the product backlog is transparent, visible, and understood.
• Drive the iteration and define user stories based on customer requirements and synthesize use cases.
• Responsible for making sure that development processes align with the product roadmap.
• Translate business needs into requirements for a technical audience, define acceptance criteria and document features in Business Requirement Documentation (BRD)
• Perform data-driven analysis and develop recommendations to guide decision making of data quality standards.
• Coordinate and assist in testing of new products, dashboards, and features.
• Build a strong rapport with the Investment Management teams, Operations personnel, Information Technology teams and Vendor teams.

Requirements and Qualifications

• 8+ years [SV(1] [SSB2] of professional experience with leadership in technology or business analysis
• 2+ years of experience working within the Investment Management and/or Financial Services industry as Business Analyst is beneficial.
• Exposure to handling data related to Security Master, IBOR with experience with Trading background would be required.
• Experience working industry standard data providers like Bloomberg, Aladdin, StateStreet, Factset and MSCI.
• Ability to analyze large data sets and derive insights related to the data is required.
• Proven experience in an Agile/Scrum software development organization and understanding of the development lifecycle.
• Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent work items with minimal supervision.
• Excellent decision-making ability to manage a complex ever changing priority list and resolve conflicts to competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in managing functional communication to technical stakeholders and technical communication to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong Analyst with a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
• Business and Functional requirement knowledge (i.e., elicitation of requirements, planning, documentation, analysis, and alignment to standards)
• Ability to embrace, adapt and lead through change, foster effective partnerships, and drive effective collaboration with peers and vendor resources.
• Proficiency in MS Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Visio, and PowerPoint.
• Exposure with Power BI or Tableau or any visualization tools is a plus.
• Experience with Cloud Technologies, relational databases, Snowflake is a plus.

Education & Certifications

• Business or Engineering Graduate or MCA in Computer Science/Information Science or Equivalent
• Agile certifications (CSPO/PSPO/SAFe POPM) would be a plus.
• Salesforce Admin or other technical certifications would be a plus.

Please Note

• Regular work hours: 11.00 AM to 8.00 PM IST, with flexibility in work hours.
• This position allows Hybrid work schedule which requires the individual to be in office 2/3 days a week.
• Individual must be available to work US Eastern Standard Time hours as business requires.
