Bidding Engineer

A Bidding Engineer at Voltek Engineering is responsible for analysing customer requests for proposals (RFPs), preparing detailed technical and commercial bids for electrical panel projects, including cost estimations, specifications, and project timelines, while collaborating with internal departments to ensure competitive and compliant bids are submitted on time to secure new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tender Analysis:

Thoroughly review customer RFPs to understand project requirements, technical
specifications, and delivery deadlines.

• Cost Estimation:

Develop accurate cost breakdowns for panel manufacturing, including materials, labour, and
overhead expenses.

• Technical Proposal Writing:

Prepare detailed technical proposals outlining panel design, components, electrical
schematics, and compliance with relevant standards.

• Commercial Proposal Development:-

Create commercial proposals detailing pricing, payment terms, project schedule, and any
additional services offered.

• Internal Coordination:

Respond to client inquiries regarding technical specifications and clarify proposal detailed
information and ensure proposal accuracy.

• Client Interaction:

Respond to client inquiries regarding technical specifications and clarify proposal details.

• Risk Assessment:

Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

• Bid Submission:

Ensure timely and accurate submission of bids within specified deadlines.

• Competitive Analysis:

Analyse competitor bids to identify potential advantages and adjust proposals accordingly.

• Contract Review:

Review and negotiate contract terms with clients to ensure alignment with the bid proposal.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of electrical panel design and manufacturing processes.
• Expertise in electrical engineering principles, including power systems, control circuits, and safety standards.
• Added Advantage if someone is proficient in AutoCAD, electrical design software, and project management tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively present technical information to clients.
• Analytical skills to evaluate project requirements and develop cost-effective solutions.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience in the panel manufacturing industry is preferred.
