Head of Procurement

Role & responsibilities

-Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for key categories, identifying potential suppliers in India for international manufacturing plants and projects to achieve cost savings and optimize quality.

-Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends and potential sourcing opportunities.

- Lead the development of category management strategies, including supplier segmentation and risk assessment.

-Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiations, value engineering, and sourcing optimization.

- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and group companies, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.

- Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks associated with international sourcing, including geopolitical instability, currency fluctuations, and trade regulations.

- Develop contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions

- Build and lead a high-performing global procurement team, including sourcing managers and category specialists.

Preferred candidate profile

-Candidate from the Heavy Engineering/ Hydro Power background with an experience of 18- 22 years. Out of which, a minimum of 5-6 years in a similar role.

-Experience in developing and implementing procurement and supply chain strategies that align with the organization's objectives.
