Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Specialist Asset & Project Accounting to join our finance team at Vodafone Idea Shared Services. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the accounting of fixed assets and capital projects, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate financial reporting for the company's assets and investments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that capital expenditures (CapEx) and related projects are accurately tracked and reported.

Key Responsibilities:

• Asset Management: Oversee the complete accounting cycle of fixed assets, including acquisitions, capitalizations, disposals, and transfers. Ensure accurate asset classifications and ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
• Project Accounting: Manage the financial accounting and reporting for capital projects, ensuring costs are allocated correctly across various projects, and work with project managers to track expenses and forecasts.
• Depreciation & Amortization: Calculate and maintain accurate depreciation schedules for all fixed assets and ensure proper accounting treatment in line with company policies and applicable standards.
• CapEx Tracking: Collaborate with business units and project managers to monitor and report on capital expenditures, ensuring proper budgeting, forecasting, and tracking of all CapEx projects.
• Reconciliations & Reporting: Perform regular reconciliations of asset accounts and project cost accounts, ensuring the accuracy of the balance sheet. Provide regular reports to senior management and stakeholders on asset performance, capital project progress, and financial impact.
• Compliance & Controls: Ensure all asset and project accounting activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies. Assist with audits (both internal and external) and provide supporting documentation as needed.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements related to asset and project accounting to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Ensure adherence to best practices in asset management and accounting.
• Coordination with Stakeholders: Act as the key point of contact for all asset and project-related accounting matters, liaising with project managers, operations, and other finance teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth coordination.
• Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain proper documentation for all assets and capital projects, including contracts, invoices, and related correspondence, ensuring compliance with retention policies.
• Financial Analysis: Assist in providing financial analysis and reporting related to assets and capital projects, identifying trends, variances, and providing recommendations to management for optimization.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, CMA) is a plus.
• Experience:
  
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in asset accounting, project accounting, or a similar role, preferably in the telecom or infrastructure industry.
• Experience with capital projects, fixed assets management, and financial reporting.
• Skills:
  
• Strong understanding of accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP), fixed asset accounting, and project cost tracking.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) and MS Excel.
• Ability to work with large datasets and generate financial reports.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
