Job Description : ILMT Report Scheduling Specialist (4+ Years Experience)

We are seeking an experienced ILMT (IBM License Metric Tool) Report Scheduling Specialist with over 4 years of experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and scheduling regular reports in the ILMT system, ensuring efficient license management, compliance, and optimized software usage reporting. You will play a key role in ensuring that licensing data is accurately collected, analyzed, and reported on a scheduled basis to meet both internal and external audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

ILMT Report Management :

- Configure, manage, and schedule regular reports in IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT), including usage, compliance, and audit reports.

- Work with various stakeholders, including IT, Finance, and Compliance teams, to understand reporting requirements and generate the necessary reports to meet business needs.

- Create customized reports based on different licensing requirements, ensuring data is accurate and relevant for compliance, cost optimization, and decision-making purposes.

Automation of Report Scheduling :

- Develop and implement automation strategies for scheduling ILMT reports to run on specific timelines (e.g., weekly, monthly, quarterly) and ensure that the necessary reports are sent to designated recipients.

- Use the ILMT interface and automation tools to streamline and simplify the scheduling process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of reports.

Data Analysis and Reporting :

- Analyze ILMT data and reports to track software usage patterns, license compliance, and potential over-utilization or under-utilization of software.

- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management on software usage optimization and cost reduction opportunities based on the scheduled ILMT reports.

License Compliance and Optimization :

- Work closely with the License Compliance team to ensure that all reports are aligned with licensing agreements and meet vendor and audit requirements.

- Ensure that ILMT data and reports are prepared in a way that can be easily used during internal and external audits.

- Assist in identifying and addressing any discrepancies or anomalies in software license usage and work with relevant teams to rectify them.

System Monitoring and Troubleshooting :

- Continuously monitor the ILMT system for report scheduling failures or inconsistencies and promptly address issues to ensure smooth report generation.

- Troubleshoot and resolve any problems related to report generation, data accuracy, and system configurations.

- Perform regular checks on scheduled reports to ensure they run without error and meet the established schedules.

Collaboration and Documentation :

- Collaborate with various teams (e.g., IT, Finance, Compliance) to understand and document reporting requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for report scheduling processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to support ongoing operations and training efforts.

- Communicate any changes in report scheduling processes, timelines, or formats to stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement :

- Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of ILMT report scheduling processes.

- Suggest and implement enhancements to improve report accuracy, report delivery times, and overall user experience within the ILMT system.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Experience :

- 4+ years of hands-on experience with IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) or similar license management tools.

- Strong background in scheduling, configuring, and managing automated reports in ILMT or related systems.

- Experience with license compliance reporting, software asset management (SAM), and understanding of licensing models (e.g., IBM, Microsoft).

Technical Skills :

- Proficiency in ILMT, including report creation, customization, and scheduling.

- Familiarity with system administration and maintenance tasks related to ILMT, including troubleshooting report failures and ensuring data accuracy.

- Strong knowledge of SQL or similar querying tools for extracting and analyzing data from ILMT or related databases.

Analytical Skills :

- Strong ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and present findings in a clear and actionable manner.

- Ability to analyze and optimize license usage and make recommendations for cost reductions and improved compliance.

Communication Skills :

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings, reports, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful report delivery and alignment with business goals.

Problem-Solving :

- Proficient in troubleshooting report scheduling and system configuration issues to ensure reports are generated accurately and on time.

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to resolve discrepancies or inconsistencies in ILMT data or reports.

Tools & Technologies :

- Experience with ILMT versioning and features.

- Familiarity with software asset management tools and ITIL processes.

- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or other reporting and visualization tools for analyzing and presenting data.

Preferred Skills :

- IBM Certified Professional - License Metric Tool or related certifications.

- Knowledge of software asset management (SAM) best practices.

- Experience with other IBM software and tools, such as BigFix or Tivoli.
