Analyst - Investment Equity Research - FMCG/Consumer Durables/Retail Sector (5-12 yrs)

Job Description:

- We are seeking an experienced Equity Research Analyst with a strong background in investment research, particularly in the Indian market. The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of relevant experience, demonstrating a deep understanding of fundamental analysis, unit economics, and financial modeling. This role requires a proactive approach to research, with the ability to identify potential risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct detailed bottom-up fundamental analysis of companies in the designated sectors.

- Perform comprehensive research on unit economics and develop financial models to assess terminal values.

- Evaluate potential optionalities and risks associated with investments through rigorous analysis.

- Engage proactively by asking insightful questions and reaching out to industry experts for interviews and deeper insights.

- Prepare research notes with a clear, outcome-oriented focus to facilitate quicker decision making by the investment team.

- Maintain a methodical and structured approach to research, documentation, and note keeping.

- Utilize various research tools and platforms to gather and analyze data effectively.

- Collaborate with the investment team to provide strategic recommendations based on thorough analysis.

Qualifications:

- MBA from a reputable institution with a focus on finance or related fields.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in equity research, with a focus on consumer goods, retail, consumer durables, or platform businesses in India.

- Proven ability to conduct deep research and analysis with a track record of delivering actionable insights.

- Strong understanding of financial modeling and valuation methodologies, particularly in ascertaining terminal value.

- Previous experience in buy-side research or credit ratings is a plus.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Familiarity with industry research tools and databases.
