Microstrategy support Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated MicroStrategy Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in MicroStrategy support, report development, and experience in the retail domain. This is a hands-on role that involves troubleshooting, development, unit testing, and maintaining reporting environments to ensure optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

MicroStrategy Administration & Support:

• Provide ongoing support for MicroStrategy environments, including managing schema objects, public objects, report service documents, and subscriptions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, and related components.
• Set up and maintain report alerts for proactive monitoring and notifications.

Command Manager & Enterprise Manager:

• Utilize Command Manager to automate tasks, manage configurations, and support report generation and maintenance.
• Use Enterprise Manager for monitoring and maintaining system performance and security.

Object Manager & Package Deployment:

• Manage Object Manager to ensure proper configuration and synchronization of objects across different environments.
• Oversee package creation and deployment, ensuring smooth transitions between environments.

Development & Testing:

• Design and develop MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, and other analytics solutions based on business requirements.
• Perform unit testing to ensure high-quality deliverables and perform defect resolution when necessary.
• Document the development and testing process for future reference and knowledge sharing.

SQL Analysis & Reporting:

• Conduct SQL analysis to support complex data extraction and ensure the accuracy of reports.
• Ensure that all reporting outputs meet business needs and performance expectations.

Support and Troubleshooting:

• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for troubleshooting issues with MicroStrategy applications and reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.

Retail Domain Expertise:

• Apply your knowledge of the retail domain to create, manage, and optimize reports that meet business and operational needs.

Documentation & Communication:

• Maintain comprehensive and clear documentation of solutions, processes, and test cases.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide timely updates on progress and issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

• Strong experience with MicroStrategy tools, including Schema Objects, Public Objects, Report Service Documents, and Subscriptions.
• Familiarity with Command Manager, Enterprise Manager, and Object Manager.
• Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and report generation.
• Experience in MicroStrategy report alert setup and package creation/deployment.

Experience:

• Proven experience in MicroStrategy support and development, with a solid understanding of report and document creation.
• Knowledge of testing practices, including unit testing and troubleshooting.
• Prior experience in the retail domain is highly desirable.

Communication & Collaboration:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with business users to understand reporting needs.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Availability:

• Willing to work in rotational shifts if required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Any Bachelors Degree.
• Certification in MicroStrategy or relevant technologies is a plus.
• Experience with other reporting tools is a plus.
