Service Delivery Manager – DataOps on AWS Cloud

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Service Delivery Manager (SDM) with expertise in DataOps practices on the AWS cloud platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of data services in a cloud-native environment, ensuring seamless execution, and maintaining high levels of performance and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong technical leadership, expertise in AWS, ITIL processes, and an ability to manage complex data engineering projects and teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service Delivery Oversight:
• Lead the overall management of DataOps service delivery across multiple clients and projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations, business goals, and SLAs.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders (internal teams, customers, vendors) for all service-related matters.
• Monitor the performance and health of AWS-based data platforms, ensuring they are optimized and delivering results efficiently and securely.
• Oversee the implementation and management of AWS cloud infrastructure for data-driven applications, leveraging services like S3, Redshift, Databricks, NiFI, AWS MWAA, Colibra, Privacera, Dremio and other tools and technologies.
• Ensure the adoption of DataOps best practices for continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD), automation, and monitoring of data pipelines and platforms on AWS.
• Work closely with Data Engineers and DevOps teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of cloud-based data solutions.
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) for DataOps projects and ensure continuous improvement.
• Provide regular updates and reporting to senior leadership on service performance, issue resolution, and overall project health.
• Ensure the resolution of any service disruptions or incidents in a timely manner while minimizing impact on customers, following ITIL incident management processes.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams to resolve technical issues related to AWS services, data pipelines, and other data operations tasks.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions in line with ITIL best practices.
• Implement and manage change management processes, ensuring changes to the AWS cloud environment and data operations are executed smoothly and with minimal risk to service delivery.
• Collaborate with teams to assess the impact of changes and ensure proper approvals, testing, and communication as per ITIL change management procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in DataOps processes, focusing on automation, efficiency, and reducing manual interventions.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team, staying ahead of industry trends in cloud, DevOps, and data management.
• Manage and mentor a cross-functional team of DataOps engineers, architects, and developers, ensuring they have the resources and skills to deliver successful outcomes.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to ensure alignment and smooth execution of service delivery plans.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Over all 12+ years of experience with 5+ years of experience in a Service Delivery Manager or similar role, with a strong background in managing cloud-based data environments.
• Proven track record of successfully managing DataOps teams and delivering complex data solutions using AWS.
• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services, specifically in the context of data management (e.g., S3, Redshift, Lambda, Glue, Athena, RDS, etc.).
• Knowledge on Service now implementation and usage.
• Familiarity with data engineering practices, ETL processes, and data pipeline architecture.
• Expertise in DevOps practices, CI/CD tools, and automation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of monitoring, security, and optimization in the cloud.
• Experience applying ITIL principles to manage service delivery, incident management, change management, and problem management.
• Proven experience with ITIL best practices in managing and improving IT services, particularly in a cloud environment.
• Excellent leadership, people management, and mentoring skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage relationships across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• ITIL Foundation certification, ITIL Practitioner or higher.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional level.
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
• Other relevant certifications in DataOps or Cloud Infrastructure.
