Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Trade and Forex Sales RM to join our Transaction Banking team (TBG). This individual will be responsible for driving the sales of trade finance and forex products to corporate clients, providing them with tailored solutions for managing and hedging international trade and currency exposure. The role requires strong client relationship management, in-depth knowledge of trade finance and forex products, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management:

1. Develop and manage strong relationships with existing and new corporate clients in the trade finance and forex space.

2. Act as the primary point of contact for clients seeking trade and forex solutions, providing expert advice on managing currency exposure and optimizing trade finance processes.

3. Proactively engage with clients to understand their needs and business objectives, offering tailored solutions for international trade and foreign currency management.

Sales and Business Development:

1. Drive sales of trade finance and forex products, including letters of credit (LC), trade credit insurance, forward contracts (FRA), Hedging Solutions and FX Swaps and other treasury solutions.

2. Identify new business opportunities and cross-selling potential within existing client portfolios.

3. Work with corporate clients to structure trade finance and forex transactions, ensuring alignment with their financial strategies and goals.

4. Negotiating and executing ISDA contracts.

Product Knowledge and Advisory:

1. Provide expert advice on trade finance and forex products, including the risks and benefits associated with each offering.

2. Stay updated on market trends, geopolitical developments, and currency movements to deliver informed advice to clients.

3. Advise clients on risk management techniques, including hedging strategies to protect against currency fluctuations and mitigate trade-related risks.

4. Knowledge of ISDA and FIMMDA.

Transaction Structuring and Execution:

1. Work closely with internal stakeholders, including treasury, compliance, and operations teams, to structure and execute trade finance and forex transactions efficiently.

2. Ensure that all transactions comply with regulatory standards and internal policies.

3. Oversee the documentation and approval process for trade finance and forex deals.

Market Intelligence and Reporting:

1. Monitor global trade and forex market developments, providing insights to clients on potential impacts to their business and currency positions.

2. Prepare and present regular market updates and performance reports to clients and internal management teams.

3. Contribute to the bank's strategic direction and product offerings based on market insights and client feedback.

Risk Management:

1. Work closely with risk management teams to ensure that all transactions are assessed for risk and compliance.

2. Guide clients in the use of hedging instruments, such as forwards and options, to manage currency risks effectively.

3. Identify and mitigate any potential risks related to trade finance transactions and forex positions.

4. Calculating and negotiating LER limits with clients and risk teams.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

2. Relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, or banking-related qualifications) are a plus.

Experience:

1. At least 3-7 years of experience in trade finance, forex sales, or corporate banking, with a proven track record in business development and client management.

2. Strong understanding of trade finance products (e.g., letters of credit, trade credit insurance, supply chain financing) and forex instruments (e.g., forwards, swaps, options).

3. Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements for international trade and foreign exchange transactions.

Skills:

1. In-depth knowledge of ISDA, FIMMDA, LER, FRA, SWAPS, global trade, foreign exchange markets, and currency risk management strategies.

2. Strong sales, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.

3. Ability to analyze market data, identify trends, and advise clients on currency and trade strategies.

4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and relevant banking software systems.
