Your Role

This Product Management Associate position is a full-time, paid 6-month internship with the potential for a permanent role based on performance.
You ll do everything that a product manager does (and no, that s not being the CEO of the product). Here s everything you will be doing:
- Youll dig through user feedback and data - lots of it - to find patterns that matter
- Youll spend hours interviewing users and documenting their pain points (yes, even the tiny ones!)
- Youll write and rewrite product specs until theyre crystal clear for our engineers
- Youll chase stakeholders for feedback and requirements, keeping projects moving
- Youll clean and analyze data to back up every product decision
- Youll create detailed documentation that others can actually understand and use
- Youll join daily standups and sprint meetings, keeping track of every detail
- Youll learn to prioritize ruthlessly when everything seems important

Technical Skills Youll Need
- Youre comfortable getting your hands dirty with SQL queries and data analysis
- You can build clear, logical product specs and flowcharts (and revise them repeatedly)
- You know how to use analytics tools, or youre eager to learn them inside out
- You understand basic web technologies enough to have meaningful conversations with engineers
- Youre ready to learn our entire tech stack to understand whats possible and whats not
- You can document technical requirements in a way that makes sense to everyone

- You get excited about solving messy problems that dont have clear answers
- Youre comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
- You believe no task is too small if it moves the product forward
- Youre ready to handle feedback and iterate repeatedly on your work

- You can manage your time effectively across multiple projects
- Youre committed to showing up 30-35 hours every week, ready to learn and contribute
- Youll get hands-on experience with a real product used by thousands of students worldwide
- Youll own actual features from ideation to launch - this isnt a theoretical exercise
- Youll learn our entire product development process, including how we make tough trade-offs
- Youll build a portfolio of real product work that you can showcase to future employers
- Youll understand how a fast-growing startup makes product decisions
- Youll develop skills in SQL, analytics, and product tools that are highly valued in the industry
- Youll join a supportive team that wants you to succeed and grow
- Youll get detailed feedback on your work, helping you improve rapidly

- Remote-First: All roles at VI are currently and will remain remote - flexibility to work from anywhere
