Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and professional School Counselor to join our team at [School Name], Banashankari. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing academic, emotional, and social support to students across Grades 1 to 9, ensuring that they thrive in a positive, safe, and nurturing school environment. As a School Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in helping students navigate their academic challenges, mental health issues, personal growth, and social dynamics, in alignment with the ICSE curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Counseling and Emotional Support:
   
• Provide individual and group counseling to students from Grades 1-9 on personal, social, and emotional challenges such as anxiety, depression, peer pressure, self-esteem issues, and family problems.
• Assist students in coping with life events like grief, bullying, or trauma.
• Offer crisis intervention when necessary and connect students with external professionals as required.
2. Academic and Behavioral Support:
   
• Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor students' academic progress, offering interventions and strategies to support students who are struggling academically or behaviorally.
• Assist students in setting academic goals, improving study habits, and overcoming learning difficulties.
• Implement programs to promote good behavior, positive study habits, and self-discipline.
3. Career and Personal Development Guidance:
   
• Provide guidance for students as they begin to explore their career interests and strengths, helping them understand their abilities and potential career paths.
• Guide older students (Grades 7-9) on making informed decisions about their academic futures, helping them understand course selections and future pathways.
• Organize workshops or seminars to introduce students to topics such as time management, goal setting, stress management, and career awareness.
4. Social and Peer Interaction:
   
• Promote positive peer relationships and assist in resolving conflicts between students, helping them to develop effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Organize and facilitate social-emotional learning programs and workshops, including topics like empathy, team-building, and managing relationships.
• Work to ensure that the school environment is inclusive, promoting diversity, tolerance, and respect among students.
5. Parent and Teacher Collaboration:
   
• Serve as a liaison between parents, teachers, and the administration to address student concerns and ensure coordinated efforts to support students.
• Conduct parent-teacher meetings to discuss students emotional well-being, academic progress, and behavioral issues.
• Provide workshops or resources to parents on topics like child development, managing stress, and effective communication with children.
6. School Climate and Well-Being:
   
• Foster a positive school climate by promoting mental health awareness and contributing to a safe and supportive school environment.
• Lead school-wide initiatives for anti-bullying, mindfulness, and overall student well-being.
