Organizational Overview:
Credit Team decisions credit actions across the lifecycle of a customer - from acquisition to account management to collections and recover - we work towards managing credit and fraud losses and elevating customer experience through powerful and proprietary insights on customer risk and credit behaviors. The actionable insights are driven by access to numerous alternative data sources, new age technologies, focused strategies, emerging algorithms, and predictive precision. Spread across 10 pillars the credit team in India caters to the entire gamut of decision sciences, from data management to model development to strategy design, and bringing it all to life through technology, and managing within the guardrails of our regulatory requirements. Role Summary/Purpose:
As a Vice President, Collections Strategy Delivery Lead, you will have the opportunity to work on major business initiatives that contribute to SYF s growth and productivity objectives. In this role, you will have the responsibility of leading collections strategy implementation assignments, Collections Strategy Delivery infrastructure, and validation team. supporting the function & will work directly with the business, IT and strategy teams in catering to the end-to-end implementation needs. The role needs to manage a team of 16 and responsible for career pathing and team deliveries as well. This is a strategic role in India and needs very close collaboration with India Implementation leads to draw synergies across various portfolio/functions. The role will need strong understanding of change management for prioritization of work
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible to lead Collections Strategy Delivery infrastructure support team (Experian PowerCurve /Strategy Manager/Fiserv) which includes responsibility for: Application Upgrades (vendor/business/IT liaison, environment setup, test execution. signoff), including changes to the Strategy Manager platform (coding, testing, and validating all application changes)Lead or support critical infrastructure projects Primary Strategy Manager run support, including Transformation instance ownership SD Team representative with Collections Data Warehouse/Enterprise Data Lake teams for issue resolution
Lead the Build/Implementation team for Strategy Delivery that supports implementation of Collection Phone & Alternate Channel strategies utilizing Experian Power Curve (Strategy Manager), Fiserv Rules and SAS (Alternate Channel) which includes responsibility for: Scoping, Code Development, Deployment of strategy implementation changes, including post implementation validations/checkpoints Leading and approving implementation design solutions (Design Reviews, Develop Scripting, Logic design recommendations for code development & SAS programming Maintaining environment framework and code decision logic in multiple environments (dev and validation)
Partnering with collections contact strategy, collection operations and process owners to determine strategy implementation requirements and develop / ensure streamlined approaches to coding, unit testing and queuing process. Partnering with process owners in establishing procedures and requirements to ensure accurate and timely delivery with regulatory and compliance standards Leading team to provide Level of Effort for scoping and scheduling. Support Fiserv account level research and strategy support for MICN releases and portfolio acquisitions
Manage validation resources for Strategy Delivery team that provides implementation validation for pre-delinquent through delinquent (pre-charge off) accounts utilizing Experian PowerCurve (Strategy Manager) and Fiserv Rules and implementation of Recovery, Commercial, Alternate Channel, and Skip strategies through other various tools/applications. Team utilizes multiple platforms and tools including Fiserv Rules, Strategy Manager (Experian PowerCurve), SAS, and Tableau and works with several internal teams and vendors to complete testing.
Hire, train, develop, manage, and retain Strategy Delivery resources. Lead selection of development methodologies, processes, tools, and infrastructure under direction of VP, Collections Strategy Delivery
Ensure design, test, implementation, and validation processes are reliable, sustainable, repeatable, and auditable. Ensure team has documented procedures/processes/job aids, robust change control, separate development and validation resources, and proper automation/code documentation & controls. Support regulatory exams, internal audits and second line of defense reviews as required. Assurance of six sigma rigor in strategy development, implementation, and monitoring. Develop and support Best-in-class analytic solutions
Sponsor and actively manage process improvement projects Provide expert case support that includes researching any questions or potential issues identified by Collections
Lead Automation effort, projects to ensure successful implementation. Provide thought leadership in various initiatives/projects(linked to People, Process, Product) and share best practices. Appropriate management of time and resources for efficacy
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Bachelor s degree with 10 years credit experience (development in platform experience), or in lieu of a degree, 12 years of credit experience (development in platform experience).
Strong Technical abilities and hands on experience strategy implementation platforms viz Strategy Design Studio, Strategy Manager, TRIAD etc.
3+ years data warehouse experience, 2+ years of project management experience, 5+ years design, test and control experience within environments that process large amounts of data.
Minimum 1 year of experience using SAS, SQL & Unix, Mainframe, VBA, Excel
Experience managing a team to accomplish a set of goals. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and present business results to management
Demonstrated project management experience with extreme attention to detail, report accuracy, data integrity, and team focus
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with a wide range of end users
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage project details while balancing multiple priorities
Desired Skills/Knowledge:
MBA/MSc in analytical field.
2+ years Advance SAS/SQL, COBOL, JCL, Java, C, C++ programming capability/proficiency
Credit card or unsecured consumer lending experience
Understanding of financial analysis (i.e., profit calculations, ROI, and cost/benefit analysis)
Demonstrated ability to build and lead high performing teams

Bachelor s degree with 10 years credit experience (development in platform experience), or in lieu of a degree, 12 years of credit experience (development in platform experience).
Work Timings:
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time - 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
