Planning Engineer

Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Planning Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring project schedules, ensuring the timely and efficient execution of all project activities. Experience in large-scale construction projects, particularly in warehouse construction, will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including timelines, milestones, and deadlines, using advanced planning tools.
• Coordinate with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to align planning activities with overall project objectives.
• Analyse project requirements and allocate resources effectively to meet deadlines.
• Monitor and track project progress, identifying delays or risks, and recommending corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed reports, including project status, forecasts, and variance analyses, for management and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, budget constraints, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to optimize project workflows.
• Review and analyse project documentation, including contracts, designs, and technical specifications.
• Maintain records of key planning activities and updates, ensuring accurate documentation for future reference.
• Contribute to risk management by identifying potential challenges and proposing mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in project planning, with exposure to large-scale construction projects.
• Proficiency in project planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Solid understanding of project management principles, resource allocation, and construction methodologies.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in warehouse construction projects is highly desirable.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
• Familiarity with cost estimation and control techniques.
