Project Manager - Project Management (Global Experience - Building & Infra Projects)
Responsible for managing a project to achieve specified objectives. Involves the overall planning, coordination and control of a project from inception to completion to produce a functionally and financially viable project that will be completed on time within authorized cost and to the required quality.
Manages scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages one or more very complex projects, involving a combination of the following:
- Clients with a national geographic footprint; OR,
- Projects involving a full spectrum of services offered by IE; OR,
- Other complexities, such as projects that involve litigation, environmental protection, due diligence, etc.
- Manages all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).
- Has consenting and regulatory authority for approvals.
- Manages other Project Managers.
- Develops and maintains detailed project plans, including work breakdown structures, schedules, and budgets.
- Identifies, assesses, and manages project risks, developing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Leads and facilitates project team meetings, ensuring clear communication and alignment among all stakeholders.
- Monitors project progress, analyzes variances, and implements corrective actions to ensure project goals are met.
- Manages client relationships, addressing concerns and maintaining satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepares and presents regular status reports to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Conducts post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement in future projects.
- Develops and implements resource allocation strategies to optimize team performance and project efficiency.
- Negotiates contracts with vendors and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project goals and budget constraints.
- Mentors and develops junior project team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of project deliverables across departments.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in project management, preferably in building and infrastructure projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-million dollar projects with national or global scope.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and mentoring project teams.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels.
- Advanced proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).
- Solid understanding of construction processes, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies in large-scale projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certifications such as PRINCE2, Agile, or Six Sigma.
- Experience with sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes.
- Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) software and processes.
- Familiarity with contract law and experience in contract negotiation.
- Multilingual capabilities, especially in languages relevant to global projects.
