Lead - Statutory Compliances

Role & responsibilities

• To ensure that the Company follows the law of the land, adheres to statutory norms / standards.
• To define SOPs commensurate to the business requirement in line with Laws, as applicable in HR domain from time to time, so as to ensure that the Organization is compliant.
• To stay up to date on all general Labour Laws, latest amendments,
• to check its applicability and impact (financial / non-financial) to the business and to follow the same religiously, as may be applicable.
• To ensure adherence to statutory compliances of all entities and guide HRBPs of all business in following the same.
• To check, monitor and track the compliance status across all business
• in the Group so as to be compliant at all times.
• Identify issues / lacunas pertaining to HR compliances and to correct the same from time to time.
• Responsible for educating the concerned HR team for thorough understanding of compliances, as well as, providing adequate communication to them from time to time on subject matters
• Ensure that all processes and procedures are meeting the timelines and comply with the law
• They are also responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects, at all levels, as well as responsible for providing guidance on all compliance matters.
• To initiate Disciplinary Action/s against concerned employee/s as
• required / recommended by the Management by following due course of law
• Responsible for the entire POSH related compliance including organizing Sensitization Awareness Program for all employees, organizing special training sessions for ICC Members, conducting investigations in case of POSH complaint, Maintaining MIS, Filing Annual Returns, etc.
• Handling Legal Matters pertaining to HR Domain in coordination with Legal Department
• Conducting Audits of personal files of employees based at vertex office.
• To ensure statutory remittance tracker is maintained, updated on real time basis check whether the aforesaid data is uploaded on respective Govt. portals for payment
• To track and follow up with Finance department for ensuring timely remittances of Provident Fund and ESIC contributions before due dates or the dates defined by respective state Government.
• Ensuring department calendar pertaining to statutory remittances is updated from time to time
• To monitor whether data pertaining to Provident Fund and ESIC of employees in all businesses / entities are shared by the Payroll Team with the consultant within defined timelines
• To verify the statutory remittances against the amount deducted from salaries of employees, covering all entities
• Maintaining / updating Vendor Master Folder from time to time and to ensure
• Maintaining / updating Governance Folder
• Tracking agreements validity of manpower vendors / contractors at Mumbai vertex
• Highlight violations by vendors pertaining to short payments or late remittances and ensure the same is being corrected / adhered to by vendor/s with a defined timeline.
• To scrutinize the statutory payments of contractual employees based at Mumbai Vertex
• Providing guidance to Vertex Admin in various subjects pertaining to contractor’s compliances
• Audit of personal files of employees to make sure that all required documents are in place as per the checklist
• To support all HRBPs in compliances and related subjects
