Role & responsibilities

Job Summary:

An Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, preparing reports, and supporting financial decision-making within the organization. The role involves maintaining ledgers, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and analyzing financial data to ensure the companys financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Recordkeeping:
   
• Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Post journal entries, manage expenses, and track payments.
2. Financial Reporting:
   
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Prepare financial reports for management, external stakeholders, and auditors.
• Ensure the timely filing of financial reports and tax documents in compliance with local regulations.
3. Budgeting & Forecasting:
   
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis to management.
4. Compliance & Taxation:
   
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS) and relevant tax laws.
• Prepare tax returns and ensure timely payment of taxes.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants during audits and financial reviews.
5. Accounts Reconciliation:
   
• Reconcile accounts regularly, including bank statements, credit card accounts, and intercompany transactions.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data.

Audit & Financial Reviews:

• Prepare for and support internal and external audits.
• Implement corrective actions based on audit findings and recommendations.
