Solidworks Administrator

Role Summary

• Global responsibility for CAD platform

Manage the platform environment including servers and user workstation performance

Monitor license usage and compliance

User support...first point of contact for issue (ex;login issues, troubleshooting of the application)

• Library administration (parts creation, maintenance, addressing organizational level

requirements etc)

• User training

Training on updates in SW and PDM

Training for new hires on the standard use of our platform, library naming conventions, drawing naming conventions, Global CAD standards etc

Creation/maintenance of training documentation as when required.

• Roadmap (3D experience)

Conduct regular user discussion round tables to understand needs/issues/pain points

Define required product updates/automation

Maintain schedule for future updates/automation

Oversee the updates/automation implementation

Provide periodic updates on the roadmap (recent accomplishments, upcoming plans etc) to the global team members and application users.

Essential Responsibilities / Expectations

1. Manage and oversee the SolidWorks environment, ensuring software configurations are optimized for the organization's needs.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve SolidWorks-related issues, collaborating with IT and engineering teams as necessary.
3. Stay current on SolidWorks updates and advancements, implementing new features and tools to improve design processes.
4. Administer and maintain the Enterprise PDM system to ensure effective data management, version control, and collaboration among design teams.
5. Implement and enforce data management best practices to enhance overall productivity. Provide user training and support for Enterprise PDM functionalities.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, IT, and manufacturing, to understand and address CAD-related requirements.
7. Act as a liaison between users and software vendors, facilitating communication and issue resolution.
8. Customize and develop scripts, templates, and automation tools to streamline design processes.
9. Collaborate with software developers to create custom solutions that align with the organizations CAD requirements.
10. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for CAD and PDM processes, standards, and best practices.
11. Conduct training sessions for users to ensure efficient utilization of CAD tools and systems.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor of engineering (B.E/B.Tech) in Mechanical/chemical with Piping/ BIM certification

Experience Required (Min Max year)

A Minimum of 10+ years of relevant Industry experience in PLM tools management and

administration for multiple projects across Water/Wastewater, Food & Beverage, Micro-

electronics, Pharma industry verticals or equivalent large scale complex projects involving

multidiscipline engineering.

Shall have hands on expertise with Solidworks Tool for Administration, Project monitoring

and control, deliverable set up, Database management, Automation and coordination level

activities

Key Skills required (must haves certifications/ know-how)

• 1. SolidWorks Certification.
• 2. Experience with other CAD software and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
• 3. Programming skills (e.g., VB.NET, C#) for customization and automation.
