Job Description

1. Prospecting and Lead Generation

  • Identifying Potential Clients: Research and identify new business opportunities within the fragrance industry, such as perfumeries, beauty brands, cosmetic companies, and distributors.
  • Building a Lead Pipeline: Use various methods (cold calling, trade shows, networking events, online platforms, etc.) to generate leads and build a robust pipeline.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on fragrance market trends, consumer preferences, new product launches, and key industry players to identify opportunities for sales.

2. Relationship Management

  • Client Engagement: Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in potential client companies, understanding their business needs, fragrance preferences, and product requirements.
  • Account Management: Manage existing client accounts, ensuring continued business and satisfaction, and look for opportunities to expand sales within those accounts.
  • Customer Retention: Work to maintain long-term relationships by providing excellent service, staying proactive with follow-ups, and addressing any issues or concerns promptly.

3. Sales Strategy and Planning

  • Setting Sales Targets: Develop clear sales strategies, goals, and KPIs for the fragrance segment, tailored to target different types of clients such as manufacturers, retailers, or luxury brands.
  • Sales Forecasting: Forecast sales based on market trends, historical data, and industry insights to ensure business growth and manage resources effectively.
  • Pricing Strategies: Work on pricing structures that align with the market, ensuring that your fragrance products are competitively priced while maintaining profitability.

4. Product Knowledge and Presentations

  • Fragrance Product Knowledge: Deeply understand the fragrance formulations, trends, raw materials (such as essential oils, synthetics, and other ingredients), and how different scents appeal to various markets (e.g., luxury vs. mass market).
  • Product Sampling: Organize fragrance samples, test kits, and product demonstrations for potential clients to allow them to experience the scents firsthand.
  • Tailored Proposals: Create customized proposals for clients, ensuring you match the fragrance offerings with their brand identity or market needs.

5. Sales Operations and Documentation

  • Order Processing and Management: Oversee the process of order fulfilment from fragrance selection to delivery, ensuring the smooth flow of transactions.
  • Contract and Agreement Negotiation: Work on the terms of sale, contracts, and delivery arrangements, ensuring both parties are satisfied with the terms.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, client communications, and transaction histories.

6. Collaboration with Internal Teams

  • Working with Product Development Teams: Collaborate with product development or perfumers to provide feedback from clients, ensuring fragrance offerings meet market demands or customer preferences.
  • Logistics and Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with the logistics team to ensure timely deliveries of fragrance products and manage any potential inventory issues.
  • Marketing Alignment: Coordinate with the marketing department to promote fragrance products effectively and align sales campaigns with market trends (e.g., seasonal launches or trending scents).

7. Negotiation and Closing Deals

  • Negotiating Terms: Handle all aspects of contract negotiations, including payment terms, delivery schedules, and bulk pricing, ensuring that both your company and the client reach mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Closing Sales: Manage the final stages of the sales process, closing deals, and ensuring that clients are satisfied with the terms and conditions.

8. Attending Trade Shows and Networking Events

  • Industry Events: Attend fragrance trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events to showcase products, gain new leads, and stay connected with key industry figures.
  • Product Launches: Participate in the launch of new fragrance lines, ensuring that clients are aware of the latest offerings and product innovations.

9. Customer Support and Problem-Solving

  • Addressing Customer Needs: Provide solutions to client inquiries, resolve problems related to product quality or delivery, and ensure smooth communication between clients and internal teams.
  • Post-Sales Support: Offer continued support after the sale, ensuring clients are satisfied with the products and helping them with any follow-up needs (e.g., reorders, complaints).

10. Sales Reporting and Analytics

  • Sales Tracking: Monitor sales progress and report regularly on sales performance to senior management, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Market Feedback: Collect feedback from clients on fragrance products and trends, helping the company to improve offerings and adjust sales strategies as needed.
  • CRM System Maintenance: Keep customer data and sales activities updated in the CRM system for accurate reporting and future engagement.


Preferred candidate profile

Minimum 10 years of Experience in the same industry
