Sr. Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical System Design: Develop detailed electrical schemes/designs, including

power distribution, lighting, and control systems, using industry-standard software.

• Expertise in:

• Electrical Power Distribution
• Electrical Calculations - Short Circuit Calculations, Relay coordination
• Sizing calculations and specifications for various equipment like

generators, transformers, bus ducts, cables, VFD, Soft starter.

• Must be familiar with Hazardous area classification and equipment

selection for hazardous areas

• Must be able to prepare cable schedule and termination schedule.
• Must be familiar with OISD codes for electrical design, installation and

maintenance works.

• Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other

professionals to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.

Should be able to deliver projects independently with very little assistance.

• Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs comply with local regulations,

industry standards, and safety guidelines.

• Documentation: Prepare technical specifications, schematic diagrams, wiring

layouts, and other project documentation.

• Cost Analysis: Conduct cost estimation and feasibility studies to ensure projects

remain within budget constraints.

• Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their requirements, present

design proposals, and incorporate feedback into the project.

• Site Visits: Conduct on-site inspections during installation and commissioning to

ensure adherence to design specifications and resolve any issues.

• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on advancements in electrical design tools,

technologies, and regulations to enhance project outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree

preferred).

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design engineering, preferably within

a consultancy firm.

• Proven track record of working on diverse projects, including oil & gas sector,

industrial commercial, , and residential sectors.

Technical Skills:

• Solid understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., BIS, OISD,

PNGRB Regulations, IEEE, NEC, IEC).

• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP, or

equivalent).

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point etc.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and an aptitude to learn new topics.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with clients

and multidisciplinary teams.

• High attention to detail and correctness of documents prepared, and organizational

skills.
