Procurement Manager

Job Overview:

The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement processes to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in sourcing and negotiation, capable of developing procurement strategies that align with the company's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sourcing:
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure optimal cost, quality, and delivery.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to achieve continuous improvement and cost reductions.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance to ensure compliance with company standards and contractual terms.
2. Negotiation:
• Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms, including pricing, delivery, and payment terms.
• Develop and execute negotiation strategies to achieve the best value for the company.
• Ensure all procurement activities are conducted in a fair and ethical manner.
3. Procurement Operations:
• Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, including requisition, order placement, and delivery.
• Ensure procurement activities align with company policies and procedures.
• Monitor market trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
4. Cost Management:
• Analyse and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on procurement metrics to senior management.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
5. Compliance and Risk Management:
• Ensure procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain and procurement processes.
• Develop and enforce policies and procedures to maintain ethical procurement practices.
6. Team Leadership:
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team.
• Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.

• Sourcing:
• Proven track record in identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers.
• Experience in developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Knowledge of supplier markets and industry trends.
• Negotiation:
• Strong negotiation skills with a history of achieving favorable terms.
• Ability to influence and persuade stakeholders and suppliers.
• Experience in contract negotiation and management.
• Procurement Systems:
• Proficiency in procurement software and systems.
• Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Analytical Skills:
• Strong analytical skills to assess supplier performance and market trends.
• Ability to develop and interpret procurement reports and data.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
